La Guignolée - Une tradition remarquable

By Daniel Darveau

/ This year again, the food safety organization Soupe au bouton is relaunching the Guignolée in order to perpetuate the tradition of the Christmas Baskets of Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, Saint-Aubert and Saint-Damase.

A festive and inclusive activity
Thanks to the collaboration of the Knights of Columbus, the municipalities mentioned above, several community partners and the cohort of citizens involved, we can say that the organization is based on solid foundations.

On December 1 , more than a hundred troubadours will crisscross the roads and lend a hand at the big Guignolée day in the municipalities of Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, Saint-Aubert and Saint-Damase.

This year again, new people are joining the large tide of volunteers for this joyful, unifying and friendly event that will allow more than a hundred households in need to celebrate the holiday season with a basket of nutritious and quality foods.

People wishing to get involved during this day can contact Caroline Caron at (418) 358-6001. The Guignolées will be postponed to the following Sunday in the event of a storm. Be ready to welcome them and don't hesitate to make them sing!
